Ms. Laura Jane Curtis Townsend, age 88
Of McEwen, TN passed away Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, TN. She was born November 22, 1936, in Humboldt, TN to Buddie and Beulah Curtis.
As a devoted member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church, Jane exemplified a life of unwavering faith. When she was able, she embraced her role in the church with grace, participating in various activities that fostered a sense of unity and compassion among all members.
Throughout her life, Jane had a profound appreciation for the simple joys that life offers. She found happiness in her many hobbies and interests, which included doing delicate embroidery work, nurturing her beautiful garden, and crafting delightful meals in the kitchen. An avid fan of word searches and card games, she enjoyed sharing these activities with her friends and family, fostering bonds through laughter and friendly competition. She had an undeniable love for old Westerns, which always seemed to resonate with her adventurous spirit.
Throughout her life, Jane was known for her nurturing spirit and her heartfelt commitment to her family. She took great pride in spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always eager to shower them with affection and, of course, the occasional treat. Her warmth extended beyond her family, as she also found joy in caring for her feline companion, Wendy, who brought her countless moments of happiness.
Jane’s legacy will always be defined by the love she showed her family and the bonds she nurtured over the years. As we reflect on her life, we celebrate a woman who truly loved and lived for her family, leaving behind a profound impact that will never be forgotten.
