Lauralee Ann Mowrey, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025, in Gaylord, Michigan. She was boorn on June 17, 1946, in Port Huron, Michigan, the daughter of Fredrick and Genevieve Lixey.

Lauralee was the beloved wife of Andrew Mowrey, with whom she shared a beautiful marriage filled with mutual respect, laughter, and an unbreakable bond. She was a devoted mother to Bryon (Maureen) Mowrey and Suzanne (Mark) Gordon, instilling in them values of compassion and integrity. Her role as a grandmother to Bryon II (Toni) Mowrey, Michael Mowrey, Jacob Mowrey, and Jon-Michael Lemay was one she cherished with all her heart. The love she had for her great-grandchildren, Max, Mikhail, Gordon, and Eleanor, knew no bounds, and each of them held a special place in her heart.

Lauralee's warmth extended to her sisters-in-law, Amy Lixey and Elizabeth Lixie, with whom she shared countless cherished memories. She was preceded in death by her loving parents and brothers, Francis Lixey and Kenneth Lixie, who no doubt welcomed her with open arms into heaven.

Lauralee was educated at St. Stephen High School in her hometown, where she graduated with the class of 1964. After high school, Lauralee entered the workforce, her career evolving over time as she became a skilled Medical Biller and later a respected manager within the industry. Her career spanned many years, working in lower Michigan and northern Michigan, until her retirement in 2011.

Lauralee was a fixture in her Michaywe community, where she was actively involved with her many lady friends. Her contributions were not only appreciated but also served to strengthen the bonds among her neighbors and friends.

Her interests reflected her zest for life and her love for her family. Lauralee and her husband were avid travelers, making the journey to Florida twice a year by car, embracing the open road due to her aversion to flying. Her garden was a testament to her patience and nurturing spirit, while her crafts showcased her creativity and attention to detail. She found joy in the game of golf, but it was the precious moments spent with her family, children, and grandchildren that she treasured most.

Lauralee's legacy is one of love, friendliness, and thoughtfulness, touching the lives of all who knew her. She embraced each day with a smile, a kind word, and a heart full of generosity.

A Memorial Life Celebration for Lauralee will be held at a later date. Please share your stories and memories at the "Share a Memory" section.

It was a joy to know Lauralee. I will hold dear memories of golfing on the Z league, and playing Euchre and Pinochle together. Also participating at paint and sips. She will always be in my heart. Condolences to Andy and her family. Chris Biallas
