Lawrence "Eddie" Stacy, Sr., a cherished member of his community and a beloved family man, passed away on June 28, 2025, in Franklin, Ohio, after a lengthy illness. Born on May 23, 1946, in Glendale, Ohio, Eddie led a vibrant life characterized by a unique blend of creativity, humor, and dedication to those he loved.
Eddie began his career working at Appleton Paper in West Carrollton before venturing to establish his own businesses, including Stacy's Van Murals, where he showcased his talent for painting and pinstriping cars. His passion for music also led him to open a recording studio, where he recorded numerous gospel groups, bringing joy to many while cherishing his love of gospel music. Notably, he was a proud steel guitar maker, having built his own steel guitar, a testament to his craftsmanship and artistic spirit.
Eddie was known for his light-hearted personality and was often regarded as a jokester, whose sense of humor brightened the days of those around him. He found joy in the simplest pleasures, from his hobbies in painting to his interactions with family and friends.
Eddie is survived by his loving son, Herbert Stacy; his son, Charles (Pam) Stacy; his brother, Daniel Stacy; and his sisters, Emily Salyer, Janet (David) Sparks, and Mary (Lloyd) Shearer. He is also survived by his grandchildren, David, Joseph (Stephanie), Jimmy (Elizabeth), Amanda, and Katherine, along with numerous great-grandchildren and extended family members, who carry on his legacy of love and laughter.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Thelma Jean (Sparks) Stacy; his son, Lawrence Edwin Stacy, Jr.; his parents, Ira and Daisy (Francis) Stacy; and his sister, Imogene Charlton.
A visitation will be held in his honor on July 7, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Temple of Praise, located at 9840 Clearcreek Franklin Rd., Miamisburg, OH 45342, followed by a funeral service beginning at 11:30 AM. A graveside service will follow at Woodhill Cemetery, 6228 Hamilton-Middletown Rd., Franklin, OH 45005.
Lawrence "Eddie" Stacy, Sr. will be remembered for his impactful contributions to his family, community, and the many lives he touched through his creative endeavors and unwavering spirit.
