She was born on September 3, 1930 to Robert Hall Cunnius and Mary E. Cunnius. She married Alvin DeWayne Ellis on April 12, 1957. Together they made a life in Elmore City where they both lived out their lives. Along with gardening and quilting, she was a proud member of the Elmore City Methodist Church and the Elmore City Round up club.
She is survived by her son, Stanley Ellis and wife Charlene of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; Grandson, Terry Ellis of Florida; Granddaughter, Ella McElroy and husband Chris of Wynnewood, Oklahoma; Great-granddaughters, Kimberlin Looney and husband Rowdy of Elmore City, Oklahoma, Amber Morris and husband Zach of Texas; Great grandson, Trace Courtney of Wynnewood, Oklahoma; Sister, Shirley Goodman of Elmore City; a host of nieces and nephews and three great-great-grandchildren, Claiten Looney, Jasper Morris, and Logan Morris.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Dewayne Ellis; Brothers, Jiggs Cunnius, Molly Cunnius, Nolan Cunnius; Sisters, Noma Drennan, Juanita Cunnius; Daughter-in-law, Jane Ellis; Great granddaughter, Jordan Courtney; Great Grandsons, Harlen Looney and Roland Courtney.
Graveside services for Lena will be on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Elmore City Cemetery with Caroline Lovett officiating. Visitation for Lena will be on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at Wooster Funeral Home in Elmore City from 11:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Services are entrusted to Wooster Funeral Home.
