Leonard Allen, 73, of Fayetteville, NC, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2025. Professional services entrusted to Unity Funeral Services and Peoples Undertaking Company of McComb, MS.

Graveside services will be Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 12:00 Noon in Robinson Family Cemetery in Liberty, MS.
Mr. Leonard Allen Sr. was born on October 25, 1951, in Liberty, Mississippi to the Late Jessie and Nancy Allen. He confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized by the Late William Alexander; and became a member of The Beechgrove Baptist Church. He later extended his membership to Outreach For Jesus Church & Christian Education Center in Hope Mills, North Carolina.
Leonard was a graduate of Scotlandville High School in Baton Rouge, La. After high school (at the age of 18) he joined The United States Army and was deployed to Korea. During his time in Korea, he met and married the love of his life, Nam Suk in 1973. They remained married for 53 years and were blessed with two beautiful children: Alicia Allen and Leonard Allen Jr.
Furthering his career in the United States Army; he was deployed all over the world, serving with The Airborne Units Special Forces. He traveled to war zones in Korea, Germany, Egypt, Panama, Afghanistan, Iraq, Kuwait and other countries. When he returned from the war, he was assigned to his permanent duty station; Fort Bragg Military Base in Fayetteville, North Carolina; where he later purchased a home and resided with his family. He continued working as a Communications Expert (Signal Support Systems Specialist (25U). His commitment, dedication and hard work led him to many promotions and high-ranking positions, becoming a E-7 Sergeant. After 22 years & 7 months of service to his country, Leonard Allen Sr. retired from the United States Army. After retirement he became employed with The Cape Fear Valley Medical, Behavioral Health Center, as a Security Officer/Patient Safety Specialist were he remained until his transition.
His hobbies were Fishing, Camping & Traveling. Additionally, he loved football; The Dallas Cowboys was his favorite team. Most of all he loved traveling home to Louisiana and Mississippi to be with his family and prepare for the family reunion, once a year. He enjoyed arriving a few days early, with his brother John to assemble all the tents and awakening early (5am) to cook breakfast for everyone. It built and made it as a real Campsite Village and he enjoyed it all.
Leonard Allen, Sr. departed this life on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at his residence in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Leonard was preceded in death by his beloved Son, Leonard Allen Jr.; His Parents, Jessie and Nancy Allen; His Sister, Sarah Allen Smith; Brother in-law, Wroth Smith Sr; His Grandparents, Leon and Sarah Robinson.
Leonard Allen, Sr. leaves to cherish his memories: His wife, Nam Suk Allen of Fayetteville, NC; One daughter, Alicia Allen of Fayetteville, NC; A son, Danny Cook of West Germany; Two granddaughters; Jalissa Dixon and TyLeeya Allen of Fayetteville, NC; One grandson, Leonard Allen III of Fayetteville, NC; and Two great grandsons; Jayden Dixon and Da'Murei Stackhouse of Fayetteville, NC; Two brothers John (Margie) Allen of Baton Rouge, La; and Walter Allen of Baton Rouge, La.; Three sisters, Virginia Mott of Liberty, MS; Janice (Johnny) Smith of Baton Rouge , La. And Margie Mitchell of Baker, La.; Five sister in laws; Two brother in laws; And a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins & Friends
