Lenny Piha passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 24, 2025, surrounded by his family at his home in Pine City at the age of 94.
Leonard Joseph Piha was born June 9, 1931 to Joseph and Anna (Bartos) Piha on the family farm east of Pine City. He graduated from Pine City High School where he met his wife of 70 years, Sonia Olson. Lenny and Sonia were married June 4, 1955.
Lenny worked for Hennepin County for 35 years. After retiring he and Sonia returned to Pine City and made their home on Rock Lake.
Lenny especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends; hunting and fishing with his special nephews, riding his 4-wheeler, traveling in the camper with their best friends, and casino trips. Lenny was active in the Knights of Columbus and Pine City Lions. He served in the National Guard for six years.
Lenny is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Sonia Piha of Pine City; daughters Catherine (Thomas) Holzemer of Onamia, Susy (Pat) Wallace of Lisle, Illinois, Judy (Mark) Brigham of Andover; grandchildren Dan, Katie (Brendan), Madelyn, Emilie, Hadley; great grandchildren Miles, Maeve; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Anna Piha; four sisters; and two brothers.
Lenny will be missed by his family and all who knew him.
Funeral services for Lenny will be held at a later date.
