Leslie Silvers Obituary

Leslie was a United States Army Veteran. He enlisted at 21 years of age and was deployed to Vietnam where he served in the war. After leaving the army, Leslie joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers in Local 238. He fought for fair wages and benefits for his fellow Union members. He met and married the love of his life, Norma Sue, in 1966. Eight years later, they settled down and made a beautiful life together in Weaverville, NC. Leslie enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and beekeeping. His memory will be treasured in the hearts of those he loved.
Left behind to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Norma Sue Silvers; daughters: Stephanie (Andy) McIntosh of Kernersville, NC, and Sherlina (Clayton) Honeycutt of Mars Hill, NC; brother, R.L. Silvers; sisters: Mary Ann Sparks, and Lucille Edwards; grandchildren: Morgan, Drew, Bryson, Devin, Gabe, and Ethan; a great-grandchild on the way, Henry; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will begin with the receiving of friends and loved ones for visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 5, 2025. The funeral service will be held the following day on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. The services will be held in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home in Burnsville, NC. Interment will follow the funeral service in the Boone/Silvers Family Cemetery off Bear Wallow Road in Burnsville, NC. Reverend Blair Harvey will be officiating.
