Leslie Wade Stevens
March 5, 1942 – October 13, 2024
Leslie Wade Stevens of Opelika, Alabama passed away on October 13, 2024 at the age of 82. He was born on March 5, 1942 in Memphis, TN.
He is preceded in death by his spouse, Marilyn Stevens and his parents. He is survived by his daughter, Paige Stockton (Wendell) of Lake Park, GA; son, Wade Stevens (Paula) of Opelika, AL; grandchildren, Haley Stockton of Lakeland, FL, Sage Stockton (Kelli) of Thompson Station, TN, Stacy Stevens (Justin Hinson) of Auburn, AL, and Davis Stevens (Sadie) of Montevallo, AL; sister, Linda Dennis (Ed) of Mobile, AL; and many other loving family and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to all those who cared for him in this life, most especially in his times of need. Whether you knew him as Father, Grandfather, Son, Brother, Husband, Friend, Neighbor, Cousin, Coach, or Colleague, you either loved him or hated him. Those close to him would tell you he didn't care much either way! He also served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He had an impact on all those he knew, and he will be greatly missed.
No services will be held. It was his wish to be cremated, and his ashes distributed alongside those of his wife, Marilyn Stevens, and those of their beloved pets.
Because of his love for animals, donations can be made in his honor to the pet rescue of your choosing. Thank you for continuing this passion that Les and Marilyn both shared.

We were once the Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn of Baker High. We were fraternity brothers at Murphy High and involved in so many things. Me in sports and Les in girls, but always the best of friends! We roomed together at Marion Institute and the things we did, but never got caught. We shared a trailer house at Alabama with two other friends. We all left Al. and came back years later to finish.I I´ll never forget my best friend! Love You Phil.Sorry our lives would never cross again.
