L. Scott Twyman, 67, of Spring Hill, Florida passed away on July 14, 2025.
He was born in Sanford, Florida.
He is predeceased by his parents: Linwood and Lola Twyman.
Survived by his wife of 48 years, Sharon Twyman; daughters, Tiffany and her husband Rob Burnes; Melinda and her husband Tim Reiter; Allison and her husband Shawn Penney; grandchildren, Laine and Reese Howard; Hannah Burnes; Bailey and Brady Reiter; Elodie, Ada, and Isla Penney; sister Gloria and her husband Clarence Johnson; brother Travis and his wife Pauline Twyman, brother Ben and his wife Cathy Twyman, and 5 nieces and nephews and their spouses and children.
As a Christian man, Scott was actively involved in serving at the church throughout his life, most recently serving on the meal team, community outreach, trailer team and table host for Discovery classes.
Often referred to as the "Cable Dinosaur," he committed 45 years to the cable television industry. Starting out crawling under houses, digging trenches and climbing power poles to install cable, he concluded his career as a cable engineer. His solid work ethic was honored and respected by all his colleagues.
Scott was heavily involved in serving his community. From pulling floats in Christmas parades to serving on the board of the Hernando County Blood Bank. His services extended to the Florida Sheriff's Youth Ranch, American Cancer Society Relay For Life and was a founding member of the Hernando County Education Foundation.
In his spare time, he was a skilled bass fisher, often fishing bass tournaments in the red, silver, and black Skeeter bass boat with his fishing buddy, Barney. If he wasn't fishing, he was duck hunting. His prized taxidermied mallard was sadly eaten by family dog, Renegade. Scott spent many days on the golf course, often times laughing at Tiffany and Tim for the lack of golf skills they weren't learning in Golf class at Florida State University. He was also an accomplished iPad solitaire player.
Scott was the epitome of "girl dad." Driving a van down an 8 lane California highway full of cheerleaders, flying dance backdrops in and out for more years than one could count, and endless dance recitals, if a daughter was there, Scott was also there.
Scott and Sharon met on the school bus during middle school. Fast forward to mom's senior year of high school, they skipped homecoming and prom to save for a wedding. Married at the young ages of 17 and 19, they celebrated 48 years of wedded bliss on July 8, 2025. When Sharon began her teaching career, Scott had no idea who would earn the title of professional classroom mover. Throughout their marriage, Scott excelled as a "mall bench-warmer" shopping partner and for more than a decade, Scott and Sharon spent football season in Tallahassee for the Florida State football games. The family dining room feels like a museum exhibit in honor of their love for the garnet and gold.
Scott was a man of few words and if asked he would say it's because with three daughters and a wife he couldn't get a word in edgewise. He was a quietly devoted husband, father, and Papa and is now in the arms in his heavenly father.
Welcome reception for family and friends July 22, 2025 from 2:00-3:00pm at Crosspoint Church, followed by a Celebration of Life from 3:00-4:00pm and a private family meal from 4:00-5:00pm.
Childcare will be provided during the Family Gathering and Celebration of Life.

Tim and Nora Trent offer our condolences to the family; Scott was a wonderful person and boss. Scott would always help with personal things for people if they needed it. Scott was a great coach for the little league baseball team we coached together for Hernando County youth league. Scott will be missed a lot by many people and remember always. Scott also got Tim into playing golf which I was not very good at it, but he did show me some tricks to make the golf ball stay straight. Sorry to the family for their loss. Prayers are with the family!
