Lew Huff, 81, of Dumont, passed away, Monday, February 24, 2025, at Franklin General Hospital. Funeral services will be 11 am, Friday, February 28, at the Dumont Reformed Church, Dumont. Burial will be at the Dumont Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, at Woodley Funeral Home, Dumont.
Lew Allen Huff was born October 10, 1943, in Mason City, to Leonard Huff and Eunice (Rafferty) Huff. He attended Mason City Schools. After school, Lew worked as a meat cutter at Farmland Foods in Iowa Falls until they closed then as a meat cutter at the Latimer Locker. He also delivered the Waterloo Courier with his wife for over 30 years in the Dumont and Allison areas.
Lew was united in marriage with Carol White on January 31, 1964, at the Dumont Reformed Church. Together they raised 3 children. Lew was a member of the Dumont Reformed Church. He was an avid Hawkeye fan and liked watching RFD TV. Spending time hunting and fishing was important to him, yet he enjoyed visiting and being around people, especially at the Quik Star.
Family members include his children: Allen (Tammy) Huff, Owatonna, MN; Angie (Gary) Diekman, Owatonna, MN; Aaron (Tracy) Huff, Dumont; grandchildren: Carrie (Matt) Bredesen; Joshua Huff; Kali (Alex) Sharp; Hailey Finch; Hannah (Lincoln) Thompson; great grandchildren: Zayden Huff, Ryan Johnson; Roland Thompson and Halo Thompson; brother-in-law: Harry Wickering; sisters: Georgia ( Tom) Ashland; Sandra Endriss; Judy Junker; cousins: Robert Manifold and Finley Manifold.
Lew is preceded in death by his wife, Carol in 2015; grandson Derek Diekman; his parents; sister Dianna Knauff; brothers Leonard and Gary.
