Lewis Myrval Gardner, age 70, of Morrisonville, IL, passed away on Tuesday May 20, 2025. He was born in Springfield, IL, on February 11, 1955, to Richard M. and Ina Jedlicka Gardner.
Lewis graduated from Taylorville High School with the class of 1973. He attended Rose Hulman Institute of Technology, Millikin University, and Albert Ludwig Universität Freiburg, Germany, graduating with a degree in mathematics. Upon completing his education, Lewis moved to Milwaukee, WI, where he spent his career as a computer programmer in the banking industry. He worked for Marine Bank Corporation, Bank One, and JPMorgan Chase, and later retired in 2007, when he returned to Christian County.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Gardner, brother, Ted (Rena) Gardner, sister, Sally (Eric) Kozak, one nephew, Lucas R. (Miranda) Gardner, and his niece, Caroline Claire (Matthew) Kilwin. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Per, Lewis' wishes, cremation rites have been accorded, and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Perfetti-Assalley Funeral Home in Morrisonville.
Memorials in his honor may be made to the Morrisonville Community Ambulance Service.
