Liam John Kelly, 24 (also known as Lili Bear) was Born on June 29, 2000 in Torrington, Connecticut. He is survived by his parents John J Kelly, IV and Melanie S. Kelly as well as his brother Jacob Kelly, his maternal Grandparents, John J Hauck and Elizabeth Hauck. His Aunts Jennifer Gaignat, Michelle Kelly his Uncle Sean Kelly and cousins Brandon, Autumn & Gabriel.
He is predeceased by his Paternal Grandparents, John (Jack) Kelly, III and Pauline Kelly
When Liam was born he was so beautiful. We thought he was a perfectly healthy little boy, as the years passed, diagnosis kept rolling in. In September of 2000 he was diagnosed Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, then at the age of 3 he was diagnosed with Autism and shortly thereafter seizure disorder. Though that may seem insurmountable, Liam never let these diagnosis stop him from living a life full of love and joy in the purest form.
Throughout his childhood he loved going on little adventures. He would say "pack em guys" and that was his way of telling us he wanted to get out and have some fun. He loved going to Lake Compounce. Especially the water park. Going to the Farm to spend time with his Pa and go swimming in the pool or "fimming in the poo" as he would say.
He attended Oak Hill School from 6th grade to 12.th He absolutely loved going to school and loved the staff at the Oak Hill Program and they loved him back. He loved going to Summer camp and spent some of his Summers at Camp Hemlock and Camp Promise, where he met many wonderful camp counselors.
Though having Autism made it incredibly difficult for him to communicate with us. He always did. We were able to speak without words one of the ways in which he spoke to us was through music Liam loved music and loved to sing. Whether it was singing along to one of his favorite songs or singing one his originals like the infamous "Pasta song" music was a language for him.
He loved playing with his iPad and scrolling through videos. Watching his favorite Dora, curious George bluey or little Bear. One of his favorites was watching SpongeBob with Jacob, the best older brother he could have ever asked for.
Liam loved going to restaurants. His favorite was Fuji. He would ask for Hibachi rice more times than we could ever count. He also loved getting breakfast from George's, especially his corned beef hash. He loved all kinds of food. His ramen noodles, or Green Bean Casserole or "GBC" He also loved his Mommy's cooking. Some of his favorites were lemon chicken, chicken Marsala (or as he would say "Marsala food"
Liam's love for life and joy was infectious. He reveled in the littlest of things and in turn taught us to do the same. He touched everyone that had the honor of knowing him. He was the embodiment of love in it's purest form. His legacy will always be love and there is no greater legacy than that.
Our Liam was such a beautiful light in this world and such a colorful soul. Like a kaleidoscope. We are asking that you please wear cheery colors to honor him because that it what he was. A being of pure joy & light.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Liam's honor to parentprojectmd.org. Some day we will find a cure!

Dear Kelly Family,
I worked for Liam pretty much since the day I started at Oak Hill 12 years ago. He had a contagious smile and we were all amused by how he asked for his coffee first thing every day. We were so proud when he graduated and missed seeing him once he did. I couldnt agree more that he was a joy and ray of light. I am so sorry for your loss'
Sincerely,
Alicia Rizzuto OTR
