Lillian Marie Proctor, Age 77 of Port Tobacco, Maryland
Lillian Marie Proctor, born on December 13, 1947, in Charles County, Maryland, peacefully transitioned to eternal rest on July 9, 2025. She was the youngest girl born to Robert Sherman Proctor and Jane (Keys) Proctor. Lillian had eight brothers (John, Jerome "Shoemaker", Roland, Augustus "Gus", James "Jimmy", William "Billy", Robert "Teeny", and Alfred) and two sisters; Irene and Shirley. Lillian is preceded in death by her parents and each of her siblings.
Lillian grew up in Welcome, Maryland, surrounded by a large and loving family of siblings, aunts, uncles and many cousins. She attended Charles County Public Schools. She later started a family with the love of her life Roland "Teddy" Gutrick, Sr., and together they had four loving children; Dianne Proctor (Steve, Jr.), Ronnie Gutrick (special friend Sheri), Patricia "Patty" Sutton (Vince) and David Gutrick (Velba).
She was a homemaker who truly loved on her family. Known as an excellent cook, she was always cooking for family and friends. Everyone can agree her fried chicken and her crab cakes were the BEST! She also enjoyed other hobbies; growing flowers, sharing them with others, playing cards with her friends, and playing games with the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was always keeping up with what Victor Newman and the others were doing on her soap operas.
Lillian raised her children with tough love, discipline, and teaching valuable life lessons along the way. She always had a quick wit and a comment that would leave you either laughing or wondering.
She spent a lifetime loving on her large family, touching each grandchild and great grandchild in a special way. Lillian was also known to welcome many other family members into her home; over the years she embraced them and helped care for each one until they were ready to go out on their own.
Lillian leaves so many loved ones to cherish her memory; her sisters-in-law, Florine, who she talked to on the phone multiple times every day (about what, we will never know), Christine aka "Sally Mouse", and Louise "Bernadette", who she was very close with and who helped her by picking up a few groceries as needed. Her grandchildren, who she was very proud of and close to will have lasting and loving memories; Cheryl "Peaches", Aaron "Ernie", Brian, Trey, Troy, Ronnie, Jr. "RJ", David "Anthony", Tai'asja "Tai", Anthony, Reign and Saniya. Lillian also had a special relationship with each of her great grandchildren, and they will miss her dearly; Davon, Kayla, Mya, Justin, Anthony, Sierra, Zauriel, Simile, Ameena, and Ahmari. Lillian has many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family and friends who will cherish her memory.
Her Viewing will be, 9:00 am until time of Service, 11:00 am, Thursday, July 17, 2025, in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland 20640.
Interment, Heritage Memorial Cemetery, 13472 Poplar Hill Road, Waldorf, Maryland 20601.
