Lilly Chacon Obituary

Lilly Medrano Chacon, 77, a resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Gila Regional Medical Center, where she was surrounded by her loved ones. She was born January, 8, 1948 to her parents, Joe and Stella (Murillo) Medrano in Silver City, NM.
Lilly enjoyed Bingo, fishing, camping with friends and family, bowling, being with family, she was a member of the VFW Woman's post 3347 woman's auxiliary in Arenas Valley and she was also the bar manager. She went to be with the Lord after battling years of breast cancer. She loved the company of her Comadre Weda Esparza, who was always there for her in the time of need, praying and bringing her food. Your beautiful green eyes will always be remembered. We will miss and love you always. You will forever be in our hearts, until we meet again. She loved and was loved by many and will be missed by all who were blessed to know her.
She is survived by her sons, Rick Placencio of Silver City, NM and Mark Placencio of Bayard, NM; her daughter, Denise Placencio (Henry Trujillo) of Silver City, NM; her sister, Eva Aguirre (Tomas) of Silver City, NM; her two grandchildren, Joseph Padilla (Rachel) and Meagan Ortiz; her seven great-grandchildren, Aniza, Jeremy, Zaelee, Ryker, Santiago, Mila and Luke; her compadres and comadres; her God-children; her dog who never left her side, Benzo "Benzi". She was preceded in death by her parents; her step father, Adan, Grijalva; her husband, Stephen Chacon; her daughter, Debbie Placencio; her brothers, Monchie Murillo and Bobby Grijalva.
The Holy Rosary will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at 10:00am at Terrazas Funeral Chapels, recited by Deacon Art Gutierrez. The Memorial Mass will move to Santa Clara Catholic Church and will commence at 11:30am, with Father Casmir Anozie officiating. She will be laid to rest with her husband, Stephen, at Fort Bayard National Cemetery at 1:00pm.
