Lily Graciela Cepeda
July 10, 1962 - June 19, 2025
It is with heavy hearts we announce that Lily Graciela Cepeda passed away on June 19, 2025 in Fort Worth, Texas, at the young age of 62. She was born in July 10, 1962 in Del Rio, Texas.
Grandma! Grandma! This word had the most special meaning to Lily Graciela Cepeda. Being a grandmother to her grandchildren was the joy of her life. Lily had the kindest soul and her gentleness came across in every action, especially when she was being a grandmother. She was patient, understanding, playful and strict when she needed to be in helping raise her grandchildren. Lily played endlessly with them even when she was exhausted after a long day. She always prioritized her grandchildren's well being and filled their days with laughter, learning and creativity. Together they did puzzles, art and created many wonderful memories.
Faith and Family were two of the most important things to Lily. She believed in God and encouraged others to pray at times of struggle. She drew her strength from her beliefs and she always showed compassion and warmth towards anyone in need. When it comes to family, Lily was the ideal matriarch anyone could ask for. She led by example and taught the generations after her on how to be a decent human being. Her love and dedication for her family was truly endless.
She was the kind of person who always made space for others. "My door is always open," she would say-and she meant it. Her home was a sanctuary, her heart a refuge. She gave not because she had much, but because she loved much. She gave time, food, shelter, and love to anyone in need, and never asked for anything in return.
Lily was passionate about animals and she truly enjoyed taking care of all of her dogs. She saw her dogs-Chemo, Nila, Princess, Burger, Mirris, Mielero, Pelon, and Chiquis as part of her family and gave them all the love and caring they deserved. Lily also loved reading books as well as gardening. Now when it comes to dancing, there was no one that could keep up with Lily. Dancing was her way of celebrating life whether it was at family gatherings or in the living room with music playing in the background. She was also an avid boxing fan and loved watching matches with her family.
Lily Graciela Cepeda is survived by her mother, Guadalupe Rodriguez-Ruiz, her children: Joe Cepeda, Mario Cepeda, Lily A. Cepeda, Ryan Hill, and Emelio Trevino, and by her siblings: Mario Cepeda, Leticia Cepeda, Nadua Cepeda, Guadalupe Perez, Josie Perez, and John Ruiz. She also leaves behind many grandchildren whose lives were brightened by the warmth of her embrace and the wisdom of her stories.
The world is a little dimmer in her absence but her family, especially her children and grandchildren, will keep Lily's love in their heart and her memory alive. May her memory be a blessing. May her spirit forever dance in the sunlight. May her soul rest in the boundless peace of God's eternal embrace.
