The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at North Oxford Baptist Church from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. The funeral service celebrating her life will occur immediately following the visitation, beginning at 11:00 A.M. with Bro. Les Ferguson officiating. Linda was married to her sweetheart, Richard Carleton, for 63 years. Their love was a shining example of loyalty, strength, and true partnership. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Linda had many talents, but she was especially known for her incredible sewing skills. She possessed the skills to make suits and immaculate outfits for her sons and grandchildren. She also loved the outdoors and spent many happy days camping with her husband and family. Riding motorcycles was another passion of hers-she enjoyed the freedom of the open road and the thrill of the ride. At home, Linda found peace in simple pleasures. She loved sitting on her porch swing, enjoying the fresh air and the quiet moments. She also had a playful spirit and loved to play cards with friends and family. One of her greatest joys was having tea parties with her grandchildren, creating special memories that will be cherished forever. Linda was a faithful member of the Oxford Church of Christ. Her faith guided her throughout her life and gave her strength during hard times. She was known for her kindness, her warm heart, and the way she made everyone feel welcome. Linda lived a full and meaningful life. Her love for her family, her passion for life, and her gentle spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her She leaves behind a loving family to continue walking down the path of life in her absence: beloved husband, Richard Carleton of Oxford, Mississippi; two sons, Richard Carleton Jr. (Tina) of Florence, Mississippi; Tony Carleton (Amy Vanderford) of Oxford, Mississippi; five grandchildren: Sabrina Lacy (Shawn) of Brandon, Mississippi; Hannah Kennedy (Charles) of Mize, Mississippi; Victoria Randall (Tyler) of Flowood, Mississippi); Alex Carleton (Judyanne) of Tupleo, Mississippi; Jacob Carleton (Claire) of Ocean Springs, Mississippi; six great grandchildren: Chloe Lacy, Carson Lacy, Cadence Lacy, AnnLee Kennedy, Charlie Kennedy, and Marley Kennedy; two brothers: Curry Harsin (Cheryl) of Baldwyn, Mississippi; Mark Harsin (Shelly) of Saltillo, Mississippi; two sisters: Patricia Miller ( Charles) of Tupelo, Mississippi; Margie Burson (Ronnie) of Tupleo, Mississippi.
