Linda Ann Coad, 71, of North Vernon, passed away at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Majestic Care in North Vernon.

Born February 15, 1954, she was the daughter of Edward Daniel and Elda Marion (Smith) Coad.

Linda was a 1972 graduate of Jennings County High School. She received a bachelor's degree from Ball State University. Linda was a music director for First Methodist Church, and pianist for the JCHS Choral Department. She previously worked in claims for an insurance company out of Indianapolis. Linda had a love for music. She enjoyed playing softball, gardening, and doing yard work. She loved and supported dog rescue. Linda was an avid Colts fan.

Survivors include her nephews, Michael (Kimblerly), Jeffrey, and Chris Castetter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister Betty Castetter.

A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, July 7, 2025, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Joe Wyatt officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 p.m. Cremation will follow, and the burial will be held at a later date at Vernon Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in honor of Linda through the funeral home to Mercy Rescue and Adoption Inc.
