Linda Kay Combs, age 74, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2025. She was born on December 20, 1950, in Indianapolis to the late Chester and Lora Combs, and spent her entire life in the city she loved.
Linda was known for her wisdom, her quick wit, and the deep, unconditional love she had for her family. She was calm, grounded, and had a way of making you feel cared for just by being in her presence. Her laid-back nature and sharp sense of humor left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her two beloved children, Nikole and Timothy Sparks, whom she lost in 2020 - a loss she carried with extraordinary grace and resilience.
Linda is survived by her grandchildren, Elijah Sparks and Eliana McGinley, and her great-granddaughter, Harlow Sparks, all of whom she loved with her whole heart. She also leaves behind her three sisters - Josephine Foster, Lillie Leap, and Brenda Sandlin - who will continue to carry her memory forward with love.
Linda spent many years working at Shirley Engraving before retiring and was remembered there for her reliability, quiet dedication, and strong work ethic. Outside of work, she will be remembered most for her admirable strength and for the way she loved fully, fiercely, and unconditionally.
A Celebration of Life will be held to honor Linda's memory, to share stories, and to reflect on the life she lived and the love she gave so freely.
She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her, but her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and those who were touched by her presence
