Linda M. (Higgins) Plowman, age 72, died peacefully surrounded by her family, Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Lowell General Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Gary A. Plowman, until his passing in 2021.
She was born in Springfield on March 1, 1953, and was the daughter of the late Dorothy (Ward) and Brian J. Higgins. Prior to her retirement, Linda worked as a certified nursing assistant for Palm Manor in Chelmsford, where she felt great pride in taking care of others and bringing joy into their lives whenever given the chance.
She loved doing crossword puzzles as well as watching her classic tv shows and was most happy in the company of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Linda is survived by her three sons, Gary A. Plowman, Jr. and his wife, Michelle of Dracut, Mark J. Plowman of Tyngsboro and Christopher M. Plowman of Tyngsboro; her four grandchildren, Kayleigh, Stephen, Derek and Ryan; her two great-grandchildren, Jaxxon and Lilly; her two sisters, Deborah Higgins of Dracut and Helen Timpe and her husband Rudy of Derry, NH; her brother, Thomas Higgins of Billerica; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was the brother of the late Brian Higgins, Jr.
Per Linda’s wishes, all services were held privately.
