Linda Marie Ramsey was born on January 3, 1948, outside of Woodbine, Iowa to Walter and Edna (Thiles) Kelley. She attended grade school at Tri-Center and then continued her schooling in Woodbine graduating in the class of 1966. Linda was married to Joe Ball in 1967, and they were blessed with three children, Steve, Leigh and Kelly. Linda worked several jobs in the area including at Agriland FS in Logan, Iowa and the lumber yard and elevator in Woodbine. She then worked for Leo A Daly in Omaha, Nebraska. In 1981 Linda was united in marriage to Larry Ramsey in Woodbine and welcomed his children Shelly, Todd and Shalonn with open arms.
Linda was a member of the Woodbine United Methodist Church. A proud collector of pigs, she found joy in her unique collection, each piece telling a story that delighted her friends and family. Linda had a talent for shopping that not only brought her pleasure but also created opportunities for cherished memories with loved ones. Linda had a knack for cooking and baking, often sharing her delicious creations at family gatherings and community events, as well as making each kid their personal favorite for their birthday. In 1976, Linda shone brightly as the Woodbine Bicentennial Queen, which earned her a trip to Hawaii. A proud member of the Republican Party, she was actively engaged in her community, sharing her views and her passion for public service. Linda also appreciated the little things life had to offer, including the moments spent getting her nails done. Above all else, she had a deep love for her family.
Linda died on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Azria Health Rose Vista in Woodbine at the age of 77 years, six months and 24 days.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Doris Kelley; brother, Warren Kelley; and brother-in-law, David Clark. She is survived by her husband, Larry Ramsey of Woodbine; children, Steve Ball and his wife Nita of Windsor Heights, Iowa, Leigh and her husband Rick Meeker of Woodbine, Kelly Smith and Keith Barnum of Woodbine, Shelly and her husband David Cooper of Mondamin, Iowa, Todd Ramsey and his wife Kari of Omaha and Shalonn and her husband Ray Zack of Woodbine; 14 grandchildren; 13+ great grandchildren; siblings, Margaret Kelley, Patricia Kelley, Dalene Clark and Craig Kelley; and many other relatives and friends.
