Linda Stroup was born on November 28, 1947, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She passed away on June 23, 2025; she was 77 years old. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Throughout her life, Linda dedicated herself to various roles, both professionally and within her community. She is remembered for her time at Dairy Queen, where she brought joy to many through her delightful cake decorations and for her 13 years as a nutritionist at Kosciusko Community Hospital. Her compassion and dedication to serving others were hallmarks of her life.
A proud Christian, she played an active role in the Otterbein Church in Atwood, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, a Lay Leader, and held several offices in UWM, including that of District Officer. Her commitment to her community was also evident through her involvement with the Home Extension, she served as Vice President of the Atwood Home Study, as well as her participation in the Larwill Lioness Club and 53 years as a 4-H Leader.
Linda was not only a devoted professional and community member but also a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She shared 56 wonderful years of marriage with her husband, Jim Stroup. Together, they opened their hearts and home to several young people including: Kim Hessler and Ashley & Eliazbeth Tharp, providing them with warmth and support throughout their lives.
Her legacy continues through her loving family: her daughter, Dr. Katti Sneed, married to Dr. Randy Sneed of Fairmount; her son, Andi Stroup, accompanied by his wife Patricia of Warsaw; and her cherished grandchildren, Duke (Shelby) Sneed, Dillion Sneed, Dalton Sneed, Jackson Stroup, Thomas Stroup, Jasmine Stroup, and Katelin Stroup, all of whom she loved dearly. Linda is also survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Ann Stroup from North Carolina and honorary sister, Janet (Randy) Grepke .
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert & Kathryn Leffel and her siblings William Leffel, JoEllen Fitch, and Dale Leffel, along with her sister-in-law Deloris Strang and honorary sister, Sara Rogers.
Linda Stroup's kind heart and ability to make others feel at ease touched the lives of so many. Her contributions to her family, friends, and community will forever be remembered, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
Titus Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Warsaw is entrusted with care of Linda. All services will be held at Atwood Otterbein Church, 306 E Main St, Atwood. Visitation will be held in the church on Thursday, June 26th from 4 to 8 p.m.; a Life Celebration Funeral will be held the following day with a second visitation at 10 a.m.; funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will be in South Whitley Cemetery.
