Linda May (Baranyi) Zeman November 28, 1950 – August 11, 2025 Linda May Zeman, née Baranyi, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025, in Elmhurst, Illinois, after a courageous battle with ALS. She was 74 years old. Born on November 28, 1950, in Melrose Park, Illinois, Linda was the beloved daughter of Jim and June Baranyi. She was raised in Broadview, where she began a life filled with creativity, kindness, and deep connections. Linda is survived by her devoted husband, Frank; her loving children, Michael (Amy) and Elizabeth (Jeff); and her cherished granddaughters, Ella, Grace, Kaylie, Rosemary, and Addison. She also leaves behind her dear brother, Tom, former sister-in-law, Sharon, and their children, Laura (Mike), Sarah (Alexander) and Brian (Constancia) and their children, Milo and Eleni; as well as her brother- and sister-in-law Tony and Laurie Policastro, and their son, Richard (Naomi). A proud graduate of Northern Illinois University, Linda earned her bachelor's degree in Art Education. Her passion for teaching was more than a career-it was a calling and a core part of who she was. Linda touched countless lives through her work and brought joy and warmth to every classroom she entered. Known for her vibrant personality and generous spirit, Linda never met a stranger. She had a unique ability to make everyone feel like family. In retirement, she continued to share her love and energy with those around her, especially her five granddaughters. She found joy in gardening, antiquing, quilting, sewing, crocheting, and exploring her family's genealogy. A celebration of Linda's life will be held on Saturday, August 16, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Pedersen Ryberg Funeral Home, 435 North York Street, Elmhurst.
