Lisa Maureen Shelly was born on June 1, 1955, in Akron, Ohio to Mary Jayne and Melvin Cruder. She graduated from Firestone High School in 1973 and the University of Akron in 1977 with a bachelor's degree in marketing. Her 30-year career at Motorola began that same year, where she worked until 2007 developing new products and directing quality control. She then made an industry change to education and directed operations and national sales at Catholic Schools K-12 Virtual until her retirement in 2013.

In 1983, she married her husband, Robert Patrick Shelly, in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. They have two children, Victoria Catherine (Thomas) and Richard Stephen (Rozeli). Her passions in life were her family, singing in the church choir, sewing, crafting, reading, and cooking. She was proud to serve as the Miami Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women Vice President and then President among other ministries at her home parish of St. Andrew in Coral Springs, Florida. When she moved to Melbourne, Florida in 2020, she joined the choir of St. John the Evangelist and became active in her new church community.

She passed away from an extended illness on October 3, 2025, in the presence of her family. She was 70 years old. She is predeceased by her parents and brother Melvin Mark. She is survived by her husband, children, and granddaughter, as well as her siblings Victor, Mark, and Jane Cruder.

The funeral will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Community in Viera, Florida on Friday, October 10 at 11am with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the St. Joseph's Indian School, an apostolate of the Congregation of the Priests of the Sacred Heart.
