Gregory Thomas "Greg" Brackley, 67, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025, in Springfield, Missouri, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on September 23, 1958, in Springfield, Missouri, Greg remained deeply connected to his hometown throughout his life. He was the beloved son of Donna and Merle (Bud) Brackley and shared a close bond with his siblings, Kevin, Susan and her wife Jodi.
Greg proudly served his country in the United States Army for over 17 years. Enlisting in October 1981, he rose to the rank of Sergeant First Class before retiring in February 1999. His military service was a defining chapter of his life-one marked by dedication, discipline, and honor. Greg's deep love for the Army was evident to all who knew him.
Beyond his military career, Greg was known for his unwavering loyalty to those he loved and for his passion for football-especially as a devoted fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. Whether cheering on his team or spending time with family, Greg brought warmth and enthusiasm to every moment.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Donald Clifton and Helen Lorene Willoughby.
