Lois Jean Cooper, affectionately known as "Jeannie Boot" to her family and "Jean" to her friends, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 18, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on January 3, 1953, to the late Nathan Worsley and Jessie Mae Dolberry Worsley in Edgecombe County. Jean grew up in Halifax County. She was a woman who cherished her family above all else and especially loved a good family gathering. Jean worked for years as a Personal Care Aid. She had a passion for cooking and was an avid lover of the Navy and Tube Rose. Jean was also known for her distinct and unhurried style of driving her blue car slowly around town. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Cooper; four brothers, Kenneth "Jack" Broady, Larry Worsley, Jesse Worsley, Nathan Higgs; and one sister, Josephine Broady. Jean leaves to cherish her memory her children, Terry L. Worsley and Garland Cooper, Jr.; grandchildren, Pastor Magarick T. Worsley, Stephon Willioughby, Dalvin Worsley, and Tyrick Brown; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Jeremiah Worsley (DieKahia), and Eddie Lee Worsley; sisters, Elder Mary Williams and Callie Worsley Peterson (Melvin); five aunts; one uncle; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she dearly loved.
