Lois Louise Eakle, 80, of Quinton, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday July 14, 2024, at her home surrounded by family. Lois was born on January 8, 1944, in Briartown, Oklahoma, the daughter of Ulis Calvin Tilford and Cora Levina (Brumley) Purdom. She attended Hoyt Grade School for 8 years and graduated from Stigler High School in 1962. On September 1, 1962, Lois married Duel Austin Cove.
Lois received her LPN license in 1974. On October 9, 1967, Lois married Eulice Jerry Eakle in Stigler, Oklahoma. Lois worked at the Eufaula Manor Nursing Home for 6 years. She also worked at a nursing home in McAlester.
Lois helped her husband with the cattle as well. She would drive the truck, drag, rake and haul in hay and cook and took meals to the hayfield. She raised two children, Trent and Shana.
In her childhood years, Lois attended Hoyt Free Will Baptist Church. She later attended Eufaula Free Will Baptist, West Liberty Baptist, Briartown Free Will Baptist and Bactto Hoyt Free Will Baptist. She played church volleyball and her team won 1st place. Lois started playing the piano when she was the age of 20 and played for the church all of her life.
Lois enjoyed collecting rocks and coins. She and the family vacationed to almost all of the states in the USA. Spending time with her family was her greatest joy.
Survivors include: her husband, Jerry, of the home; son, Jerry Trent Eakle; daughter Shana Louise Eakle Henson and husband Brian; grandchildren, Trinity Eakle, James Eakle, William Eakle, Leah Eakle, Ariana Eakle, Gabriella Eakle, Isabella A. Eakle; and brother-in-law Gary Goins. She is preceded in death by her parents Ulis and Cora Purdom and her sisters and brothers in law, Glenna Shaw and husband Herman, Jacqueline Heflin and husband Conrad, Anna Ward and husband Arley, Deloris "Kay" McDaniels Lee and husband Robert and Brenda C. Goins.
