Lonnie Fay, 77, passed away on April 14, 2025 in Dewey, AZ due to an ongoing illness. He was born June 27, 1947 in Breckenridge, MN to Owen and Berniece (Evans) Fay. Lonnie grew up near Milnor, ND and graduated from Milnor High School.
Lonnie became well educated over the years and ultimately graduated with his Ph.D in Psychology in 1995. He went on to run a private practice for many years until retirement. Lonnie had many hobbies including fishing, boating, motorcycles, camping, and recreational shooting. He enjoyed life to the fullest. Leaving Sacramento in 2015, Lonnie and Bonnie moved to Dewey, AZ.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Bonnie (Arnold) Fay; two sons, Justin Fay, Breckenridge, MN and Reese (Eunice) Fay, Daley City, CA; one granddaughter, Emma (Joe) Fay; and a great-grandson, Soren Olafsen, Sacramento, CA; one brother, Gerald Fay; and several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Barb Arnold; and brother-in-law, Rick (Jill) Arnold and family of Rochester, MN. Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Betty Olson, Lillian Remson and Marjorie Brown.
There will be a Rosary at 10:00 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at St. Arnold's Catholic Church in Milnor. Burial will take place at Calvary Catholic Cemetery near Milnor with luncheon to follow at the church.
