Loren E. Foster, of Wibaux MT, went to be with our Lord & Savior April 22, 2025 following a stroke at church on Resurrection Sunday.
Loren was born April 6th, 1962 in Hayward, WI to Larry Foster and Ruth Ostland Foster. He joined his sister LaRae. The family lived at the Signor Gospel Mission on the Lac Court Orielles Indian Reservation where his Dad pastored. Loren's first puppy came from the "Resident Dog" Cindy. Loren named the pup Gyp.
The family moved to Rupert, ID in 1964 when Loren was 2 ½ years old. Brother Lyle was born in Rupert. Loren and Lyle along with friends Brent, Bill, and Joe shared many adventures along the Snake River – fishing, camping out, and swimming. Loren graduated from Minico High School in 1980. During high school Loren competed in Idaho High School Rodeo Team Roping and Cutting. He won a buckle in the cutting competition.
Loren attended Trinity Bible College in Ellendale, ND from 1980 to 1984 where he obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Bible and Missions. Loren then moved to Sheridan, WY where he was Youth Pastor at Sunrise Assemble of God church. He was also Assistant Pastor for a short time. It was there he met Wendy Bloxom and they were married November 8, 1985. To this marriage daughter Lindsay and son Clint were born. Loren enjoyed hunting and fishing with Lindsay and Clint. The family had many camping adventures in the Big Horn Mountains. Loren and Wendy divorced in October of 2002.
Loren and Deb Podolak met in 2008 through mutual friends who led worship at the Open Bible Church where Deb attended. They quickly became friends. Their relationship grew and in January of 2009 they became engaged. On May 30th, 2009 they were married at Bethesda Worship Center in Sheridan, WY. They lived in Banner, WY until they moved to
Wibaux, MT in November 2009. Loren worked for Tvedt Trucking hauling oil for a few years and later hauled grain. Loren also worked for Power Fuels hauling fresh water and production water in the Bakken. Loren then became employed at Home On The Range as a residential specialist. In 2024 Loren worked for Martin Construction hauling water on the 1-94 road construction project in the Sentinel Butte, ND area. He also worked on road construction for them in Lemmon, SD. In 2025 Loren continued to work for Martin Construction.
Loren and Deb enjoyed time together on their little homestead raising chickens, goats and sheep. Loren loved hatching chicks, and milking the goat when he was home. Loren believed that fruit trees should be planted wherever he lived, so 5 different types of apple trees were planted over the years. Loren and Deb enjoyed picnics, hiking in Theodore Roosevelt National Park, taking road trips to Fort Buford, ND for the trapping days, exploring Medicine Rocks State Park, Makoshika State Park and Fort Peck Reservoir. Loren loved the outdoors. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, and raising bees.
Loren loved God, his family and friends. Loren and Deb attended Calvary Temple in Wibaux and later Break Forth Bible Church in Glendive. Missions were very important to Loren and spreading the love of God everywhere. Loren loved to give to others of his time, energy, finances and life. His final gift was the gift of life through organ donation-4 lives saved.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at the Wibaux County Fairgrounds,
Wibaux, MT, May 10th 2025 at 1 pm, and also at Bethesda Worship Center, Sheridan, WY, on May 16th, 2025 at 1 pm. A time of fellowship will follow each service.
