Loretta Stouffe Obituary

Loretta L. Stouffe, age 91, of Springfield, Il. and formerly of Modesto, Il. died Tuesday afternoon (April 1, 2025) at Carlinville Area Hospital in Carlinville, Il.
She was born October 9, 1933 in Scottville, Il. daughter of the late James Wilburn and Etta Maurine Browning Turner.
She married Leo "Lee" Alvin Stouffe on November 13, 1950, in Palmyra, Il. and he preceded her in death on January 2, 2011.
Surviving are sons, Alvin Lee Stouffe (Lori), and Donald Terry Stouffe of Springfield, Il. and James Stouffe of South Carolina; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five sisters, Frances Wilson of Springfield, Il., Barbara McElroy and Laverna Shipley of both of Roodhouse, Il., Wanita Smith of Springfield, Il. and Esther Joiner of Waverly, Il.; one brother, Robert Turner of Lowder, Il.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two daughters in infancy; and a brother, Kenneth Turner.
She was a past employee of Woolco and Venture in Springfield, Il. and was a Tupperware manager for many years. She loved gardening, caning, puzzles and being with family.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday (April 4, 2025) at Neece-Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Waverly, Il. Burial will be in Panther Creek Cemetery near Scottville, Il. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home. A luncheon will be offered for family and friends following interment at Modesto Christian Church.
