Lorrie Buerkle Shoup 65 of Paul, Idaho passed away at St Lukes in Boise of complications from surgery on Friday, June 6, 2025. Lorrie was born on February 18, 1960, in Burley, Idaho to Eugene and LaRece Buerkle. Less than one year later her sister, Bonnie came along making them "Irish twins" they were told. Lorrie's health made her unable to work the last few years, so she filled her day's taking care of her flowers, building rock gardens, collecting dragon figurines, and staying in touch with friends and family through Facebook and enjoying her dogs. Lorrie cherished her children, grandchildren, and family.
Lorrie is preceded in death by her parents Eugene and LaRece Buerkle and brother-in-Law Randy Sutton.
She is survived by her husband Steve Shoup of Paul, sister Bonnie Sutton of Paul, Brother Steve (Cathy) Buerkle of Heyburn. Children: Crystal (Brian) Hatch of Jerome, Woody Hiedeman of Boise, Elizebeth Hiedeman of Sturgis, South Dakota and Tyee Hiedeman (Celeste) of Belle Fourche, South Dakota. 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren with 2 on the way.
There will be no services.
A poem from her daughter
Just Begun
Her Journey's Just Begun
Don't think of her as gone away,
her journey's just begun.
Life holds so many facets,
this earth is only one,
Just think of her as resting,
from the sorrows and the tears,
In a place of warmth & comfort,
where there are no days or years.
Think how she must be wishing,
that we could know today.
How nothing but our sadness,
can really pass away.
And think of her as living,
in the hearts of those she touched.
For nothing loved is ever lost,
and she was loved so much.
