Louis Mitsios, age 90, a resident of Lowell, passed away peacefully at Lowell General Hospital on Thursday, July 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Helen (Lampropoulos) Mitsios with whom he enjoyed 56 years of marriage until her passing in 2018.

He was born in a small village, Mesenikolas, in Greece on February 19, 1935, and was the son of the late Charles and Stavroula (Frangou) Mitsios.

Louis was raised in Greece and came to the US when he was 15 where he worked hard in a shoe shop, got an education, ran his own business and worked as a clerk at Alexander's Pharmacy, where he made many, many friends before he retired. He worked many different jobs to make sure that his family had everything they needed. He loved traveling to the mountains and spending time with family, especially his grandson. He also loved to say to the little woman (his wife Helen) "If we leave now", which meant a trip to Foxwoods.

Louis is survived by his son Charles L. Mitsios of Dracut, his daughter Sandra Lynch of Dracut, and his grandson Michael Lynch. Louis is also survived by his brother-in-law Tasi Lampropoulos of Arizona and many loving nieces and nephews.

Louis is predeceased by his brother James Mitsios and sisters Helen Coulouros, Aphrodite Gavriel, Maria Kontos and Madeline Yannas.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, July 14, 2025, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 62 Lewis St., Lowell. His funeral service will follow the visitation at 10:30 am. Interment in Westlawn II Cemetery, Lowell.

Memorial donations may be made in Louis' memory to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 62 Lewis St., Lowell, MA 01854 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at stjude.org.

Uncle Lou we have shed some tears with your passing but I know you are excactly where you want to be. You always said if God granted me one wish it would be to hold your Helen in your arms again. I know all your sisters will be arguing about who will get to hug you first.Love you uncle Lou! Rest in peace!
