Edith "Louise" Law, a lifelong resident of St. Johns, Michigan, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025, at the age of 99. Louise was born on June 2, 1926, in St. Johns, the second of five children of Marion and Edith Barbara (Eastman) Green, and graduated from Rodney B. Wilson High School in 1944.

Louise met the love of her life, Allen Law, through mutual friends in 1944. Just three months later, they were married on a snowy Wednesday evening, December 27, 1944. The young couple briefly moved to Texas before Allen was drafted, and Louise returned home to help care for her mother. After Allen's service, they made their forever home in St. Johns.

Kind, independent, and strong in her beliefs, Louise dedicated her life to serving God and her family. She cared for children, widows, neighbors, and anyone in need – always putting others before herself. A faithful follower of Christ, Louise was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of St. Johns, where she held the distinction of being the longest-standing member. Her Bible was well-worn, her faith unwavering.

A devoted homemaker, Louise was a talented seamstress with an eye for fashion-she sewed everything from bridal gowns to doll clothes, curtains, and matching outfits for her children. She was also a phenomenal baker, best known for her lemon meringue pie and raisin-filled cookies. Her Sunday dinners reflected her deep commitment to hospitality and family. Louise was young at heart. She adored baseball (especially the Detroit Tigers), loved to play games with her children, and remained fiercely competitive in card games like Skip-Bo.

She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and two cherished sisters-in-law.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, 11 AM, at McGeehan Funeral Home, Keck-Coleman Chapel, 1500 Waterford Pkwy, St. Johns. Pastor Tim Knaus officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Saturday from 10 AM until the time of the service. Burial Mt. Rest Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at First Baptist Church of St. Johns.
