Louverda Bourgeois Obituary

Louverda Marie Bourgeois, 83, native of Golden Meadow, La and resident of Thibodaux, La passed away on October 19, 2025.

A celebration of life will be held on October 24, 2025 at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano, La from 9:00AM until service time at 11:00AM with a graveside service to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Louverda is survived by her son, Joseph Bourgeois (Susan); her daughters, Ella Louise Bourg (Reynold) and Darla Neill (Thomas); her sister, Dora Mae Rebstock; godchild, Lisa Lee; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hennessy Pierre and Philonise Crosby Lee; sons, Felton and Dennis Bourgeois; brothers, Hennessy Lee Jr., Norman Lee Sr., and Paul Lee; and sisters, Lorvenia Bourgeois, Virginia Arceneaux, Clovisa Guidry, Julia Naquin, Julia Lee, Evolia Matherne, and Norma Billiot.

Louverda spent majority of her life as a devoted nanny, offering not only care but joy, guidance, and affection to the many little lives she helped shape. She had a deep love for music, and found pure happiness in dancing. She was an exceptional cook. Family meals and holiday gatherings were never complete without her cooking. To know her was to know kindness, strength, and an enduring love for life’s simple pleasures. She lived fully, loved deeply, and gave selflessly.

The family will like to give a special thanks to The Oaks of Houma Nurses and St. Catherine Hospice and staff for caring for their mother. Your kindness, patience, and support brought comfort not only to her, but to all of them.
