On Monday, July 7, 2025, Lucille Janet Carter passed away peacefully at the Trident Medical Center in North Charleston, SC.
Born on Sunday, July 10, 1960, in Alcolu, SC, she was a daughter of the late Decie and Susie Mae Dukes Carter.
Services celebrating her life will take place on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 12:00 noon from the Historic Taw Caw Missionary Baptist Church, 1130 Granby Lane, Summerton, SC, where the Rev. Elaine Reed McConico will preside. The Rev. Dr. W. T. Johnson, pastor, will bring words of comfort. The service of committal will follow in the in the Historic Taw Caw Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive relatives and friends 12:00pm - 4:00pm from the Fleming & DeLaine Chapel, 222 West Boyce St., Manning, SC.

Lucy. Lucy. Lucy. I can't believe we have made it to right here. I've missed you for long already since you left Florida, and I had hoped id get to see you again someday but now I will never get to again. I'm so sorry I wasn't able to be there with you and Justin. I wish I could've been. I've always loved you so much. Since I was a teenager when I met you. You've always been my other momma... I hope you are no longer hurting and you are finally at peace. And I hope you are looking down and you are proud of that smart youngest son of yours. He's a very intelligent young man, and he's gonna do some great things with his life because of you. I hope you know that. You will be forever missed Luce... I love you to pieces. Here, there, everywhere, even down the skreet.. (inside joke between us) Fly high beautiful.. tell my daughter I love her so much when you see her and tell Mom, I love her and miss her also. I'm not me without them both. Love always, Tiff
