Luis Gallo Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mission Park Funeral Chapels Cherry Ridge on Jan. 16, 2025.
We deeply mourn the loss of Luis Antonio Gallo age 87 of San Antonio, Texas. He entered into eternal life on Sunday, January 12, 2025. He passed peacefully at home, surrounded by his devoted wife of 60 years, his children and extended family. He was born April 17, 1937 in San Antonio to Luciano and Alicia (Cerda) Gallo who preceded him in death.
Our father was a very special person to many and will forever be remembered by his family and throughout the community. He truly loved life and lived everyday as if it was his last. He was a wonderful father, husband, grandfather and great grandfather. He touched many lives with his compassion, kindness and generosity.
Our father served his community in various capacities but he was most proud of his service to our country. He served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1961 concurrently attending Lanier High School and graduating in 1958. He received an honorable discharge only to return at the age of 40 and serve an additional 18 years. In all, he served our nation for over 25 years.
Our father will proudly be laid to rest at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery and receive Full Military Honors.
Luis A. Gallo is also preceded in death by his siblings, Jesus Gallo and Roel Gallo.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Magdalena Gallo; his son, Louis A. Gallo, Jr. and his wife, Deborah; his daughter, Belinda A. DeJesus Gallo (Eric Casillas); and his son, George A. Gallo and his wife, Marisa; his grandchildren, Lori L. Gallo Sofet, Amy A. Gallo Parker, Alyssa Gallo, Marena Gallo and Daniela DeJesus; his great grandchildren, Nolan S. Gallo and Adalyn G. Gallo; his sister, Sylvia Lopez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 P.M. followed by the Rosary at 6:00 P.M. on Monday, February 3, 2025 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North, 3401 Cherry Ridge Drive. The Funeral Procession will depart the funeral home chapel at 9:15 A.M. on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 for the Funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine Catholic Church, 1321 El Paso St. The Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

The memories that I have of Mr Gallo is when he would go to the mailbox and yell or say hi Becky then he would also turn on the music sit in the front yard and that would make me smile to see them all out there surrounded by all their loved ones barbecuing in the back was one of the greatest things with the music and when they would have parties that was a good memory
