Lynda Kathleen Baut, of Kingsley and previously of Kalkaska, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at home with family by her side. She was 78.
Lynda was born on May 19, 1946 to Lawrence and Ethel (Wilson) Demmin at Lockport, New York. She answered the call of duty, serving in the United States Navy. She entered into marriage with Rex Eugene Baut on February 24, 1968 in Romeo, Michigan. The couple spent 53 years together until his time of passing on October 27, 2021. She was a proud mother and dedicated herself to raising her family. Lynda was a resident of Kingsley since 1977 and later moved to Russellville, Kentucky, finally relocating back up to the Kalkaska and Kingsley areas later in life. Her and her husband enjoyed spending summers in Naubinway on Lake Michigan for many years, creating countless special memories. She was faithfully involved in the Fife Lake Baptist Church for many years, and loving singing in the choir. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lynda is survived by her loving children, Sharon (Scott) Sheets of Kingsley and Jennifer (Ed) Hautala of Russellville, Kentucky; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Larry (Vicki) Demmin and Lyle (Robin) Demmin of New York; and many other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rex; and her parents, Larry and Ethel.
Per her wishes, cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
