Lynda Ridley Obituary

College Professor and devoted nurse, Dr. Lynda K. Ridley's love of life didn't come to an end with her death. Lynda passed away on February 9, 2025 at the age of 74 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
Lynda was preceded in death by her parents, James and Jessie Ridley; and sisters, Laura Ridley and Teresa Bays.
Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Jackie Ridley of Cleveland, TN; sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Gerald Miles of Chatsworth. Nieces Kerri (Bruce) Longmire of Apison, TN; Kelli (Kenny) Newport of Eton, Ga.; Kayti Ridley of Cleveland, TN and Nephew Kevin (Nicole) Ridley of Oxford, Ga. Very special great nephews Blake (MaryAnn) Longmire of Longview, TX; Alec (Hannah) Longmire of Dalton; Colton Newport of Eton, and James Ridley of Oxford, Ga. Special great nieces Justice Green and Brooklyn Ridley, both of Cleveland, TN. Lynda had 4 great-great nieces and a nephew that she absolutely adored.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Lynda. She loved to love her family and spend time with them. There was nothing more important to her than being together with loved ones. Lynda also loved to travel and go shopping.
Lynda has worked as a nurse in several capacities over the course of her career. Lynda was a Professor of Nursing at Dalton State College and was driven by a passion to help others and believed the world could always use one more kind-hearted person. Her life was a living example of her passion and compassion for others. Lynda's pride was in her school and students, and she shared her passion for learning with thousands of students over the years.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that a donation be made to support a one-time scholarship/donation that will be made in Lynda's name to Dalton State College. The Lynda Ridley Nursing Scholarship will be made in her honor for the love and passion for nursing she exhibited.
