Madeline Carrol (Brooks) Womble, a devoted wife, mother and the heartbeat of her family, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025, in Clinton Township, Michigan, surrounded by her loving family. She spent her entire life rooted in love, faith, and service.
Born on January 22, 1945, to the late Kenneth Benton Brooks and Madeline (Armstrong) Brooks, Carrol grew up in Romeo, Michigan, where she attended Romeo High School and began laying the foundation for a life full of heart, resilience, and generosity. At a young age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, a decision that shaped the gracious and spiritual path she followed throughout her life.
In February 1965, she was united in marriage to Clarence Womble Sr., and together they built a beautiful life, blessed with four children who carry forward her legacy of kindness, strength, and devotion.
Carrol was a lifelong member of Second Baptist Church, where she served faithfully as head of the kitchen and sang in the church choir, lifting others through her generosity and joyful spirit. She was always ready to help, never hesitating when called to serve.
In her professional life, Carrol dedicated 30 years of service to Cadillac Products Automotive Company, where her hard work, reliability, and quiet leadership left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of working alongside her.
Carrol was deeply caring and compassionate, always putting others before herself. Carrol lived a fulfilling life as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend-roles she embraced with grace and unconditional love. Above all, she was the matriarch of her family, a guiding presence who adored all of her babies and cherished spending time with her children and loved ones.
She especially enjoyed traveling with her brother Ronald and sister Vivian to visit their beloved nephews, Phillip (Teresa) Brooks Jr. and Adrian (Laura) Davis. These treasured journeys were filled with laughter, storytelling, and connection-proof of the joy she found in gathering with family and embracing moments that mattered. Carrol also found great joy in cooking delicious meals, sharing a chat over coffee, playing cards and games, crafting with loved ones, and joining in family trips to places like King's Island and Disney World, where smiles were plenty and love was abundant.
A special acknowledgement to her sisters Vivian and Sandra, her cousin Martha Woods, and her friend Anita Barker.
She was preceded in death by: Her parents – Kenneth Benton Brooks and Madeline (Armstrong) Brooks; Her siblings – Ronald Brooks, Phillip Brooks Sr., Paula (Brooks) Davis, and Karen (Brooks) Drake.
She is survived by: Her beloved children: Clarence Womble II of Bruce Township, MI; Ronald (Jonnetta) Womble of Romeo, MI; Tina Womble of Romeo, MI; Darwin Womble of Romeo, MI. Her loving grandchildren: Joshua, Ryan, Jacqueline, Kelsey (Devon), Tayron, Tiana, Madison (Marshall), Victoria, Kailyn, Taelon, Faith, Clarence III, Sophie, Dylan, Michael, Josh, Jeffery, and Janel. Her cherished great-grandchildren: Joshua Jr., Owen, Jayce, Christian, Emma, Jada, Devon Jr., Jasmine, Chloe, Aiden, Ryhlan, Zaia, Nyal, and Marshawn. Her dear sisters: Vivian (Brooks) Baldwin of Detroit, MI and Sandra (Brooks) Akles of Romeo, MI. Her beloved aunts and uncle: Marion (Armstrong) Bell of Detroit, MI; Sylvia (Armstrong) Wilson of Auburn Hills, MI; Gerald Armstrong of Belleville, MI. Her beloved sisters and brother-in-law: Effie (Rick) Nelson, Sheri (Womble) Monroe, and Anthony (Rita) Davis.
Carrol will be remembered for her warm spirit, generous heart, and the unconditional love she gave to everyone she touched. Her legacy lives on in the lives of her family and friends, in the melodies she sang, the meals she shared, and the joy she brought to every room she entered.
A memorial service to celebrate Carrol's life will be held at Muir Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center on Thursday, July 24th, 2025, honoring the extraordinary woman she was.
