East Greenwich
Madison, Jenifer M., 52, died on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice in Providence with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved mother of Maya L. Madison. Born in Silver Spring, MD, she was the loving daughter of Eva (Weissman) Silver, she had lived in East Greenwich for the last twelve years, previously living in Sharon, MA and Scotts Plains, NJ.
Jenifer, a Pilgrim High School graduate, earned her double-bachelor's degree in Sociology and Women's Studies from Brandeis, was an alum of Emory University where she received her master's in public health. She loved her ten years working as a district manager with the Kingston Fire District. Previously she worked with the AIDS Service Center in Manhattan, NY and Health Ed in New Jersey.
Jenifer was a devoted mother who encouraged her daughter to always go after her dreams, even in fear. The faithful pushes she gave her daughter led her to her first ever lead role in Fun on 42nd Street at the at the local library, an opportunity which despite Maya's protests, led her to becoming the performer she is today. The pride Jenifer had in her daughter in these times was palpable and carried on throughout the rest of her life. An avid reader of women's fiction novels; she was a passionate novice photographer and truly appreciated every nook and cranny of Rhode Island. Whether it was hiking, walking the beach, or basking on the cruise deck at sunset, she reveled in her presence at every ocean wave. She enjoyed cooking and kept up with her many friends from all over the country.
Aside from her loving mother Eva, Jenifer is survived by her father, Jack Silver; her sister, Rebecca Zola and her son Brandon; her Aunt Harriet and Uncle Steve Lowe and cousins, Brian Lowe, Garett Lowe and Samantha Hark.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in SHALOM MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 1100 New London Ave., Cranston. Shiva will be observed at the home of Eva Silver, 17 Sire Way, West Warwick, RI 02893, Monday, July 7, 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, July 8, 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday, July 9, 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.

I am so sorry to hear of Jen's loss. I knew her through the Sharon Mons Club when our kids were little. My sons were younger than Maya and I remember Jen being very helpful and empathetic, especially when I was clearly struggling to keep things together. My heart goes out to Maya and the rest of her family.

I´m so sorry to hear this, we were birthday buddies and met long ago in the Sharon Mom´s Club. She was always so kind, thoughtful and smart. She loved her daughter fiercely and Maya is in our thoughts at this time of loss and sorrow. She was loved and will be missed. Sincerely, Tanya Snyder & family

Jen and I met through the Mom's group when she lived in Sharon. Our girls played together. I recall wonderful times at the zoo's splashpad; Jen' s lasagne and just hanging out. May she rest in peace.

Maya- I am so very sorry to hear about your mom. I knew her way back when you and Nathan were little kids. We used to spend a lot of time together and I remember what an amazing mom she was. May her memory be a blessing. We are thinking of you. Lisa and Nathan.
