NORTH STAR -- Madonna M. Liette, age 94 of North Star, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN.
Madonna was born May 30, 1931, in Versailles, to the late Celest & Emma (Schwierking) Didier. She married Lowell Liette, her husband of 60 years, on February 9, 1952. Lowell preceded her in death on December 10, 2012.
Madonna is survived by three children and their spouses, Linda & Mike Kuether of Osgood, Pamela Broerman of Greenville, and Steven & Sheila Liette of Versailles. Also surviving Madonna are her 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 3 step great grandchildren, as well as her sister Naomi Phlipot of Versailles, and in-laws: Wilma Didier of Frenchtown, Bob & Edna Stout of St. Henry, and Judy & John Knight of Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Madonna is preceded in death by a son-in-law Tom Broerman, as well as siblings and in-laws: Lewis Didier, Delores Didier, Virgil & Buelah Didier, Jerome Phlipot, Ruth & Charles "Ets" Hiestand, Norma & Art Rammel, John & Dolores Byrd, Helen Stout, Ralph & Ella Mae Liette, Susie & Charles Gilliland, Connie & Urban Winner, Ernest Monnin, and her father and mother-in-law, Raymond & Elizabeth Liette.
Madonna was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, in North Star and the St. Ann's Society at the church. She was a member of the North Star American Legion Auxiliary and was a cook at the former school in North Star. Madonna was an avid sports enthusiast and enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Reds. She loved attending her grandchildren and great grandchildren's various sporting events and activities
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, July 15, at St. Louis Catholic Church, in North Star. Following the funeral mass, burial will take place in St. Louis Cemetery, North Star. Friends and family may call from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Monday, July 14, at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry, and from 9:00am – 10:00am on Tuesday, July 15, at St. Louis Church in North Star.

So sorry for your loss. My Dad, Harold Liette (Reva) was a relative. If I'm correct, I believe Lowell was my Dad's uncle.
