Mae M. Lueneburg, 75, De Pere, passed away Friday, June 27, 2025, after a brief battle with cancer.
She was born in Escanaba, MI. on November 16, 1949, to the late Leonard and Marian (Van Lister) Nelsen.
Mae graduated from Holy Name High School in Escanaba in 1968, then attended beauty school in Green Bay.
In 1969 she married Marvin Lueneburg, and they had two children.
Mae was a homemaker. She and Marvin found an interest in the outdoors and Mae hunted and fished with him.
You would find her at hunting camp poking around the campfire. She and Marvin also found a love for country dancing and loved to two-step and Waltz around the dance floor.
Tragically she lost Marvin in a vehicle accident, where she was injured as well. Mae found a new life by working out at Planet Fitness and making a few good friends. She found she enjoyed traveling to Florida with her sisters, shopping, eating out and floating in the pool.
Mae loved animals and her two cats will miss her. She enjoyed the birds in her yard, especially the cardinals.
Mae is survived by her two children: Michelle (Todd Smith) Lueneburg, and Leonard (Beki) Lueneburg. Two grandsons: Logan and Connor; two sisters, Marlene of Escanaba, and Anna (Richard Lundin) of Marco Island, FL. Brother-in-law Stanley (Sophie) Lueneburg. Sisters-in-law Carolyn (James) Williams and Jennie Hughes - Lueneburg, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mae was preceded in death by Marvin, her parents, in-laws John and Roxie Lueneburg, and sister-in-law Cheryl Scott.
Friends may call at Ryan Funeral Home 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere from 4:00PM Monday, July 7, 20205 until the time of service at 6:00PM.
