Vera "Mae" Rasmussen was born in Sterling, Illinois to James Wesley and Mary G. (Barnes) Simer on February 15, 1950. She departed this life at her home in Cherokee Village, Arkansas on March 13, 2025 at the age of 75 years.

Mae loved sewing and was an avid doll collector, amassing over 500 through the years.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Rasmussen; a daughter, Dustie Lowe; two sons, Tim Perry and Steven Rasmussen; three grandchildren, J.T., Addy, and Flint; a great-grandson, Gabe; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Mae was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Belinda Lewis; and two brothers, Marvin and John Simer.

No services are planned per her request.

Arrangements were entrusted to Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland.
