Maggie Virginia Pruett, 90, of Raysal, WV, passed away Friday, July 4, 2025 in the Commonwealth Senior Living Facility in Cedar Bluff, VA.
Maggie was born March 21, 1935 in Garland, WV, a daughter of the late Flem and Lottie Crigger Dawson. Maggie loved to work around the house, helping people and traveling.
In addition to her parents, Flem and Lottie Dawson, Maggie was preceded in death by her husband, Nolan Pruett; companion, Bill Salyers; son, Don Pruett; son-in-law, James Taylor; two sisters, Agnes Rutter and Edith Spence; one brother, Leonard Dawson; brother-in-law, Billy Rutter; and several nieces and nephews.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Taylor of Jefferson City, TN; daughter-in-law, Ann Pruett of Bland, VA; one sister, Verna Barnett and Pat of Claypool Hill, VA; one brother, Herbert Dawson and Evelyn of Raysal, WV; and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, Friday, July 11, 2025 from 12 noon until the time of service at 1 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 11, 2025 at 1 o'clock with Reverend Charles Rose and Reverend Phil Akers officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger. Burial will follow in the Shortridge Cemetery on Garland Mountain near Garland, WV. Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger is assisting the family.
