Margaret Degnan Obituary

Margaret "Peggy" J. Degnan, 78, of Lambertville, Michigan, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2025. Peggy was born on June 9, 1947, in Toledo, Ohio, she was the daughter of Norman C. and Odilla A. (Meiring) Johnson. She was a 1965 graduate of Monroe High School. Peggy was married for 10 years to Thomas J. Degnan, he preceded her in death on April 4, 1992. She retired after 30 years of service from Hollywood Elementary School in Monroe, Michigan as a Para Professional and Librarian. Peggy was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Post 514, Ida, Michigan. She enjoyed golf, bowling, soap operas, her fur babies, and most of all, spending time with her family.
She is survived by her loving children, Gerald McBee and Shanna McBee; granddaughter, Sabrina McBee; sister, Debbie (Doug) Winkler; sister-in-law, Camille Johnson; niece, Nikki Johnson; nephews, Robert Solon, Jr, and Dustin (Sandy) Winkler; great nephews, Dylan Winkler, and Jackson Winkler; great nieces, Sara Winkler, and Emily Winkler; Peggy was also preceded in death by her brother, Dennis Johnson; sister, Joan Solon, and former husband, Gerald McBee.
Visitation will be from 3-8 pm, Thursday, July 17, 2025, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, Michigan, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, July 18, 2025. Interment will follow at Whiteford Union Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Monroe County.
