Margaret "Maggie" (Fitzgerald) Gravelle, 88 of Girard, IL, passed away on Monday morning, July 7, 2025, at her home in Girard, IL.
Maggie was born March 7, 1937, in Fairfield, IL, a daughter of Carl Eugene "Gene" and Mildred (Miner) Fitzgerald.
She attended the School of Nursing where she became a licensed RN in 1960. She married Joseph Wayne Gravelle, on March 29, 1974, in Las Vegas, NV. Her loving husband passed away on October 23, 2011.
Maggie was a nurse and phlebotomist. She was a loving caretaker and helped many people. She worked at National Health Lab in Las Vegas, NV as a manager where she retired in 1992. Maggie while being a wonderful nurse found her calling in crafts and opened a shop in Las Vegas called "A Tiny Touch". After moving to Virden she brought her gifts to a new shop called the Country Hutch-Antiques and Crafts. She was a master doll maker and was incredibly skilled with making porcelain dolls. She would often be found teaching others the joys of crafting. Maggie was liked doing yard work and loved to roller skate.
Maggie was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, Jerry Gunn, great-grandson, Hunter Lee Drew, sister, Helen M. Gardner, brothers, Bobby, Gene, Leroy, and Fuzzy Fitzgerald, and sister, Faye Nichols.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, 10:00 to Noon at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Girard, IL.
Funeral Services will be conducted at Noon, on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Girard.
Burial will follow in Girard Cemetery, Girard, IL.
Maggie is survived by her son, Orvie Eugene (Companion Shawna) Gunn of Girard, IL, daughter, Shelly (Mike) Talkington of Girard, IL, companion for 11 years, Jim Garrison of Girard, IL, grandson, Christoper Wayne Gunn, granddaughter, Melissa Gunn, grandson, Chad Allen Gunn, grandson, Jared Gunn, grandson, Nicholas Gunn, several great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Macoupin County Animal Shelter.
