Margaret Neel Harris, age 89, formerly of Ashland City, Tennessee went home to be with her Lord on Monday, July 21, 2025. She was born on October 16,1935 in Nashville, Tennessee. She was a proud member of Victory Fellowship Church. Margaret lived her life in Christ. Her faith was her Christian ministry. She loved volunteering as a teacher's aide at Ashland City Elementary. She was a Girl Scout leader along with her good friends, Lucille Sykes and Ruth Sapp. She helped start the first Fellowship of Christian Athletes club at Cheatham County High School. Margaret worked as a secretary at Ashland City Elementary and at State Industries. She worked in sales at Sears for 30 years until the store closed in 2019. She was a dedicated employee and she loved her fellow coworkers. She is preceded in death by her parents, William Holt, Jr. and Margaret Holt; brother, William Holt III; and sister, Vickie Biggs. Margaret is survived by her children, Kim Hampton (Darrell) and Pat Harris; sister, Frances Bruce; grandchildren, Natalie Taylor, Michael Hampton (Jessica), Jonathan Hampton (Autumn), Jessica Mueller (Alex) and Logan Harris (Kaley); great grandchildren, Courtney, Kimberly, Elizabeth, Ella, John Tyler and Eli, beloved nieces, nephews and Jill and Amy Kirby. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Andrew Zurick and Dr. Sanjay Mohan for years of loving care and support. And to the nurses and staff at Sacred Ground Hospice House and the UT Hospice team for their kindness, compassion, and love in Margaret's final days. A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, August 9th at 1 pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Pastor Bill McRay officiating. Visitation will be on the same day from 11 am until the service hour of 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Sacred Ground Hospice House, 1120 Dry Gap Pike, Knoxville, TN 37918 or Forest Hill Cemetery, P. O. Box 82, Ashland City, TN 37015.
