Margaret MacArthur, age 75 of Mussy, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was born October 14th 1949 the daughter of Helmut & Erna (Förnsel) Gruener in Bad-Württemberg, Germany. Her family moved to Canada when Margaret was 6 years old and then moved to Detroit when she was 15 years old. Margaret graduated from Henry Ford High School in 1969. She worked at Chippawa Valley High School. Margaret met and fell in love with Gary MacArthur and they were married December 24, 1970 at Calvary Baptist Church in Hazel Park. Margaret enjoyed working in ceramics and quilting and she and her friends were very active in scrapbooking over the years. Margaret and her husband were members at the Cross Roads Baptist Church.
Margaret is survived by her loving husband Gary MacArthur of Mussy, her two daughters: Tammi (Ted) Smith of Sparta, Michigan and Mitzi (Joe) Watkins of French Camp, Mississippi, and her grandchildren: Trenton (Emily), Thomas(Maria), Taylor, Ayden and McKinley and Biscuit her cat. She is also survived by her siblings: Peter (Brigitte) Gruener of Clinton Township and Inge (Bill) Linton of Arizona. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025 from 12:00noon - 2:00pm with the Celebration of Life Service immediately following at 2:00pm all at Muir Funeral Home & Celebration of Life Center, 2650 S. Van Dyke-Imlay City, MI 48444. Memorial Donations can be made in Margaret's name to the Bair Lake Bible Camp (12500 Prang St., Jones, Michigan 49061.)
