Margaret Ellen "Sally" Pronier
November 5, 1933 – June 22, 2025
Margaret Ellen Pronier, lovingly known as Sally to all who knew her, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025, in Mission Viejo, California, at the age of 91.
Born on November 5, 1933, in Bridgnorth, Shropshire, England, and then moving to the city of London, Sally's early years were influenced by the turbulence of World War II. During the war, she moved with her parents to South Africa, where her father, Herbert David Price, a Rolls-Royce engineer, worked as a chauffeur for Government House. The family returned to London in 1946. In 1950, she met Guy Pronier and went on a picnic that began a 54 year journey.
On June 5, 1954, Sally Price and Guy Pronier, a United States Air Force pilot, were married. Together, they shared a life of love and adventure, with military postings across France, England, and the United States. In 1977, Guy, who had spent his early years in the Long Beach area, retired from the Air Force. The family then moved to San Clemente, California where they would spend the rest of their lives.
Sally's kindness, sense of humor, and unmistakable British charm made her a beloved figure wherever she lived. In San Clemente, she continued to touch the lives of those around her with her quiet generosity, irrepressible spirit, and deep devotion to family. She spent many years working for Pacific Wildlife, personally raising hundreds of stray, wounded, and starving birds (including a duck named Douglas). For several decades Sally could also be found in the stands at San Clemente High School, showing her unwavering support for the soccer team her son, Michael, coached.
Sally is survived by her son, Michael Pronier; her daughter, Rebecca Hughes; her son-in-law, James Hughes; and her grandson, Ian Hughes.
She was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Guy, in 2001. She will be remembered for her elegance, strength, and the lasting affection she shared with everyone she met.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, coordinated by Lesneski Mortuary in San Clemente, California:

Graveside Service: 1:30 PM – 2:00 PM
