Margie Knight McBryar, age 88 of the Rosebud Community in Loganville, passed away on July 1, 2025.
She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, William "Ray" McBryar; her parents, Carlton & Robena Wade Knight; sister, Jo Knight Puckett; brothers in-law, Curtis Underwood and Larry Cooper; and mother in-law, Bessie McBryar.
She is survived by her loving son, Gary McBryar; grandsons, Jeremy and Laura McBryar, Jonathan and Kristi McBryar; great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Holland, Lennox and Connor McBryar. She is also survived by sisters, Hilda Underwood and Beverley Cooper; niece, Jan & Mark Agee; nephews, Stanley Cooper, Wade & Patti Puckett.
She was a longtime member of Center Hill Baptist Church in Loganville where she was active in the choir and WMU, taught Sunday School and served 34 years as the Church Clerk. She was a 1954 graduate of Grayson High School and in 1997 organized the Grayson High School Alumni Association where she served as President.
She graduated from Southern Business School in Atlanta where she became proficient in typing and shorthand which she used throughout her career and volunteer positions. She retired from the State of Georgia Medical Board in 1990 where she oversaw the licensing of medical professionals.
After retirement, she enjoyed her grandchildren and attending the Rosebud Women's Club where she served as President.
The funeral service to celebrate the life of Margie McBryar will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Center Hill Baptist Church, Loganville, GA. Interment will follow at Center Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Loganville, GA. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 5, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Center Hill Baptist Church, https://www.centerhill.org/give/
