Marguerite Ann Myers (97) of Jane Lew, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, went peacefully to be with her Lord on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at her son Randall's home. She was born in San Antonio, Texas, on April 7, 1928, daughter of the late Richard Grote and Emma Gerhart Grote. Marguerite was united in marriage on July 25, 1946, to Ira W. "Bill" Myers, who preceded her in death on April 6, 1991.
Marguerite's memory will live on in her children, Randall Myers and wife, Debbie, Rodney Myers and wife, Diane both of Jane Lew, WV, son-in-law, Barry Cales of Beckley, WV, grandchildren, Nicholas Nash, Lindsey Gum, and Sharra Cales, great grandchildren, Nichole Nash, Zoey Nash, Sophie Gum, and Ember Gum, close friends Curtis and Sandra Smith, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Bill, Marguerite was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Sue Cales, brothers, Udo and Clarence Grote, and sisters, Francis Bemis, Clara Schertz, Helen Moore, and Winona Waite.
Marguerite worked at G. C. Murphy's in Weston for two years and then dedicated her time to raising her family. She was also a devoted member of the Harmony United Methodist Church where she served in many capacities. Marguerite had a passion for cooking and gardening, but her God given gift was caring for her family and others.
Family and friends will gather at Hardman Family Funeral Home, 730 N. Main Avenue of Weston, on Thursday, May 29, 2025, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with Reverend Dan Lowther officiating. Interment will follow services at the Friendship Cemetery in Berlin, WV. Online condolences and life stories in memory of Marguerite may be expressed at hardmanfamilyfuneralhome.com.
